Do You Want To Be Noticed? Make A Statement With These Trendy Styles

vintage clothing

We’ve already stepped into 2023, and the “New Year, New Me” mantra is still fresh. The fashion industry has been growing at a positive rate of 5.46% every year since 2017, along with the evolving styles of every season and year.

Looking trendy and noticeable doesn’t always have to include endless shopping for luxury clothing and accessories. Instead, if you follow a few signature style trends, you’ll turn heads wherever you go. So, embrace your inner fashionista here…

  1. Have some wardrobe staples

If you look at your wardrobe practically, it can be impossible to go out and buy new clothing every time you plan to attend brunch or a party. This is why it’s a good idea to have some staples in the closet.

For example, a little black dress, or LBD for short, is a must-have for every woman. The same goes for a crisp white shirt. Make sure you have clothing in neutral colors so that they can be paired with any accessories for almost all occasions.

  1. Don’t keep items that don’t fit

Let’s be honest, we all have that one t-shirt or a favorite pair of denim that doesn’t fit us anymore, but we still keep it.

Or maybe you’ve kept some of your clothes in the hopes that they might fit you again in the future.

While it can feel nostalgic to hold on to some clothes, it’s better to empty your wardrobe every now and then. It’s best to be realistic and understand that it will probably never fit you again if it hasn’t fit you for many months.

So donate these clothes to someone instead.

  1. Try out vintage clothing

This is not news to anyone that vintage clothing is back in fashion! From chic polka dots to bold stripes, models everywhere are flaunting vintage pieces this year.

If you’re unsure what to wear, look up online for inspiration. Or pair a cute polka-dotted blouse with flared denim or a simple miniskirt.

For accessories, wear a brightly-colored hair band or hoop earrings and wear high-heeled boots for the ultimate 80s or 90s vibe.

  1. Find your own style

Yes, we all love looking at stylish models walking on the ramp or fashionable celebrities flaunting their drapes on the red carpet at award shows. But remember, most of those styles aren’t feasible for everyday fashion.

What you can do instead is figure out your personal fashion style. It might take months to finally find something you connect with, but the effort is worth it.

For starters, create a mood board and experiment with different colors and shapes. Don’t be shy to check out pieces from the unisex section too!

  1. Don’t get swayed by bargains

It’s easy to get carried away when the shops display huge discounts and BOGO sales. But unless the piece you want is truly one-of-a-kind in your closet, don’t buy it just because the prices are low.

In fact, after a few weeks, you might regret buying it and never end up actually wearing it anywhere. So it’s a much better idea to save up some money and then go for a piece you’ve planned to buy for a long time.

  1. Balance your clothes and jewelry

This is one of the most important tips to keep in mind while trying out fashion choices.

If the clothes are bold and have loud colors, keep the jewelry as minimalist and small as possible.

On the other hand, if the dress you’re wearing is monochromatic, you can always vamp up your look by adding a sparkly choker or a long chain.

It’s essential to ensure a balance between your clothes and the statement pieces you’ll flaunt on your neck, ears, and wrists.

  1. Know your wardrobe

It might sound obvious, but knowing your wardrobe inside out will give you a pretty good idea of your clothes and the ones you need to purchase.

If your cupboard is overflowing with clothes, it might be easy to forget one or two items that have been lying in a corner for ages.

Ultimately, you might end up buying almost the same clothes again and then discover that it was there all along! To prevent this, set a date every month and declutter your entire wardrobe.

Over to you…

So now that you have a fair idea of how to stylize your wardrobe and how to choose clothes effectively, it’s time to try out these unique tips and tricks. So go ahead and stand out from the crowd with your fashion sense!
