How to Stand Out from the Crowd?

Even though companies like you to believe that fashion is collective and everyone should be wearing the style, colours and cuts that are in fashion right now, fashion really is personal. There is no fashion that works for everyone and you need to be a bit selective when you visit a shop. The reviews posted on websites can tell you about quality, delivery service and customer service of a company or brand, but they can’t tell you what kind of clothes to hate, like or even love. So how can you make sure that your clothing expresses who you really are? What can you do to stand out from the crowd and show the world that you are unique? There are a lot of little things that can help you with that, but they are not always obvious. That’s what we would like to tell you more about. Maybe we’ll present you with some ideas that you’d never have thought of by yourself.

Don’t Follow Fashion

It might sound like stating the obvious, but you shouldn’t follow fashion. Of course, we’re not saying you can’t choose some fashionable dresses, shirts or pants if you like them. We’re just saying that you don’t have to follow every single fashion trend. Being selective in which trend you do or do not follow helps you to stay true to yourself. Try narrowing down your selection to some pieces that you love and are flattering for your figure. Trends are not designed for every single person and not everything suits you. Realising that some styles are just not for you helps you to select the pieces that you do love. Plus, it also saves you a lot of money since you won’t have to replace your entire wardrobe with each new season or collection.

A Little Twist

If you like the fashion of the moment but still want to add a personal touch, you can add a little twist to your outfit. You can try a well-known style but change the hat, shoes, bag or other accessories that are normally associated with the said style. You’ll need to be selective and can’t choose some random item from the back of your close. But if you choose the right alternative for the pants or shirt other people wear you create a quirky, unique look that is totally you.

Your Own Trademark

A third and last way to create a personal style is by having your own personal trademark. That means you have a piece of jewellery, an accessory or some other item that people associate with you and only you. Maybe you have a flashy purse and everyone knows it’s yours. Or maybe you always wear the same kind of shoes. Even some hair accessory, a piece of jewellery or a jacket can be such a trademark. A trademark can be a specific piece of clothing, such as the jacket, but it can also be a style. Of course, you don’t wear the same shirt every day but have a tendency to choose the same kind of pants, dresses or vests and this piece of clothing helps people to recognise you from a distance.

Maybe you have your own way of expressing your personal style. Visit some shops and consider possibilities to create your own personal outfit.
